Gazprom mulling development of Iranian Kish and West Pars fields with LNG supplies to the world market
TEHRAN. May 17 (Interfax) - Gazprom is mulling the development of Iranian Kish and North Pars fields with subsequent liquefied gas supplies to the world market, Deputy Russian Prime Minister Alexander Novak told a press conference in Tehran.
"Gazprom is considering two fields: Kish and North Pars for joint development with an Iranian oil and gas company with subsequent implementation of a gas liquefaction project and supplies to world markets," he said.
Novak said that "now, virtually all technical issues have been discussed for these gas projects, the commercial terms are now being assessed."
Iran's Shana news agency has reported that the projects are estimated at $40 billion, and they include developing the Kish and North Pars gas fields, pressurizing the South Pars field, developing six oil fields, completing LNG projects and gas and refined products swaps, constructing gas export pipelines, and engaging in other scientific and technical cooperation.
