Italy plans to host Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2025, signs cooperation memorandum with Ukraine

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Italy intends to actively participate in Ukraine's reconstruction efforts and has proposed hosting a Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2025, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on Wednesday.

Italy is cooperating with Ukraine "by 360%" and in 2024, as the G7 president, will continue to support Ukraine's struggle for freedom and its recovery, Ukrainian media quoted Meloni as saying at a press briefing on the sidelines of the conference.

The Italian prime minister noted the progress being demonstrated by Ukraine as part of its preparations to join the European Union, and promised to help expedite EU-Ukraine talks.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, for its part, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency on the sidelines of the conference on Wednesday, Ukrainian media said, citing the ministry's press service.

The memorandum has become an important step in creating new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters on the Italian market, intensifying B2B contacts and broadening the range of Ukrainian goods available on the shelves of Italy's leading retail chains.

As reported, Ukrainian exporters will be able to establish direct contacts with Italian partners as part of this cooperation.
