Italian agency SACE ready to allocate 1 bln euros for operations in Ukraine - PM

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Italy's export credit agency SACE is ready to resume its operations with Ukraine, which is a very important message for Italian businesses, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said at a press briefing with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Wednesday.

"In addition to the 500 million euro line, the agency is ready, according to our information, to allocate another 1 billion euros to support trade and financial transactions, in particular, in healthcare and infrastructure," the Ukrainian media quoted the prime minister as saying.

The Italian development finance institution SIMEST will support investment of Italian companies in Ukraine's recovery through export loans, preferential crediting and direct investment, he added.

For her part, Meloni noted that the Italian government would support the private sector, and cooperation between companies of the two countries.
