Artem Verkhov appointed head of gas sector development department at Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov has appointed Artyom Verkhov director of the Energy Ministry's gas sector development department, the ministry said in a statement.

Verkhov previously held the position of deputy director of the oil and gas complex department, while the position of department director had been vacant.

Verkhov was born in 1986. In 2008, he graduated from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas with a degree in Oil and Gas Field Development and Operation, and in 2013, he completed studies at the Financial University under the Government of Russia with a degree in Finance and Credit. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as a geologist-coordinator at Varieganneft . From 2007 to 2009 he worked at the A.P. Krylov All-Russian Oil and Gas Research Institute.

Verkhov has been with the Energy Ministry since 2009, and since 2019 he has served as Deputy Director of the oil and gas complex department.
