Ukraine, U.S. sign memorandum encouraging investment for priority development, economic recovery projects

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine and the United States have signed a memorandum on supporting investments for implementing priority development and economic recovery projects, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"On the Spring Meetings sidelines, we signed a memorandum with the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and USAID to encourage investment in Ukraine for implementing priority development and economic recovery projects," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account on Thursday.

Private capital is an integral element of Ukraine's recovery and sustainable growth, Shmygal said. "Therefore, foreign investments will be among the drivers of our economy," he said.

"Ukraine has great investment opportunities that should help unlock its economic potential. The DFC and USAID can draw private investments in sectors playing a primary role for the economy. We are grateful for partnership and assistance on this path," Shmygal said.
