Zhumangarin reappointed as Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration

ASTANA. April 3 (Interfax) - Serik Zhumangarin has been reappointed as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan. The decree on his appointment was signed on Monday by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"To appoint Zhumangarin Serik Makashevich as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the decree says, the text of which is published on the website of the head of state.

The government of Kazakhstan, headed by Alikhan Smailov, resigned after the election of deputies to the Mazhilis (lower house of parliament) on 19 March. Last Thursday, March 30, the President of the country signed a decree on the reappointment of Smailov as Prime Minister. Now the prime minister must form a new government within 10 days.

Zhumangarin, 54, has served as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the republic since September 2022. Prior to that, he headed the State Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition.
