About 300 Ukrainian cultural establishments receive aid from int'l partners - minister

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - About 300 Ukrainian cultural establishments have received assistance from their international partners, Culture and Information Policy Minister Alexander Tkachenko said.

"UNESCO's role has been of special significance. It is a time when it can manifest its efficiency right now. Owing to cooperation with UNESCO, about 300 Ukrainian cultural establishments have received aid from their international partners in various forms (equipment, materials, etc.)," Ukrainian media quoted Tkachenko as saying on social media.

"Dozens of millions of U.S. dollars have arrived or are expected to arrive in the country in this form or another to support [cultural] sites," he said.

The 4th International Coordination Meeting for the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in Ukraine organized by UNESCO and the Ukrainian Culture and Information Policy Ministry concluded on Monday, March 27.
