Russia sees 8,447 new Covid-19 cases, 37 related deaths in past day - HQ

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 8,447 new cases of Covid-19 and 37 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"A total of 8,447 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered and 1,604 patients have been hospitalized over the day, up 166.4% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

There were 602 coronavirus-related hospitalizations on Monday.

The number of hospitalizations due to Covid-19 grew in 72 Russian constituent territories, declined in six, and remained unchanged in seven, it said.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 542 cases from 8,989 recorded on Monday.

Thirty-seven coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours versus 31 the day before.

"Another 11,013 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, up 35% from March 27," the headquarters said.

In total, 22,603,646 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic, including 397,146 deaths and 21,957,466 recoveries.
