Russia registers 8,989 new cases of Covid-19, 31 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 8,989 new cases of Covid-19 and 31 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

Russia "has recorded 8,989 new cases of Covid-19 and 602 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 22.6% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations increased in 21 Russian constituent territories, declined in 45, and remained unchanged in 19.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 1,951 cases from 10,940 recorded on Sunday.

Thirty-one patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 32 the day before.

"Another 8,160 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 17.6% from March 26," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 22,595,199 cases of Covid-19, including 397,109 deaths and 21,946,453 recoveries.
