Belarus to seek equal cargo transportation terms with Russia - Belarusian PM

MINSK. March 27 (Interfax) - Belarus will seek equal cargo transportation terms with Russia, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said on Sunday.

"We have a number of events planned in the Russian Federation for next week. First of all, it's a meeting of the Union State's Council of Ministers, alongside a visit of a governmental delegation to the Volgograd region. The meeting of the Union State's Council of Ministers will address a series of issues important for the development of bilateral relations," Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Belarusian government. The government released a video with an abstract from his speech on Telegram.

The issues include "the progress in implementing joint programs to deepen economic integration, elaboration of a scientific and technology development strategy of the Union State, implementation of joint space programs, and cooperation in microelectronics," he said.

"There will also be a bilateral meeting with the Russian prime minister, where we will discuss the implementation of major agreements reached at meetings of the heads of state. The meeting will also focus on a number of issues important to Belarusian economic operators, including cooperation in transport. We should and will seek equal terms of cargo transportation. I mean a decision on access to coastal shipping," he said.

Belarusian-Russian cooperation in aircraft building and microelectronics will also be discussed with the Russian prime minister, Golovchenko said.

As reported earlier, Russian Prime Minister, Chairman of the Russia-Belarus Union State's Council of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin will co-chair a meeting of the Union State's Council of Ministers in Moscow on March 27 together with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.

Decisions on further deepening of integration in the Union State are expected at the meeting, the statement said.
