Zelensky, World Bank delegation discuss financing projects to restore Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has had a meeting with the delegation of the World Bank led by its Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde, Ukrainian media outlets said citing the presidential press service on Friday.

"Particular attention was paid to the provision of financing by donors under the coordination of the World Bank for projects to restore the country, primarily in the areas of transport infrastructure, electricity and healthcare. The president emphasized the urgency of implementing programs for the fast recovery of infrastructure facilities, primarily residential buildings and educational institutions," the press service said.

Zelensky separately highlighted the importance of the implementation of business insurance program in Ukraine, which is especially relevant in the context of creating jobs.

During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of the continuation of the World Bank's work with its partners to coordinate the effort of donors in order to promptly provide necessary assistance to Ukraine.

Zelensky thanked the World Bank for its unprecedented support. "We are grateful for the number of programs that the World Bank implements in Ukraine," he said.
