Three more ships leave Odessa with 112,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat for Africa and Asia - Restoration Ministry

MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - A dry cargo ship, the seventeenth chartered by the UN World Food Program, left the Ukrainian port of Odessa on Wednesday, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Restoration.

The bulk carrier Deniz M will deliver 30,000 tonnes of wheat to Ethiopia.

On Wednesday, three ships left the ports of Greater Odessa with 112,400 tonnes of agricultural products bound for Africa and Asia. According to the ministry, the bulk carrier BC Callisto with 30,500 tonnes of wheat is heading to Algeria, and the Ioannis Theo with 52,000 tonnes of wheat - to Vietnam.

Four vessels are also moving along the "grain corridor" to load 122,000 tons of agricultural products, the report says.

According to the Ministry of Restoration, as part of the grain initiative, from August 1, 2022, 833 ships have left the ports of Greater Odessa, which has exported 25.3 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe and Africa.
