Russia sees 12,001 new Covid-19 cases, 39 related deaths in past day - HQ

MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 12,001 new cases of Covid-19 and 39 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"A total of 12,001 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered and 1,545 patients have been hospitalized over the day, up 0.3% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations due to Covid-19 grew in 36 Russian constituent territories, declined in 43, and remained unchanged in six, it said.

The daily morbidity has increased by 2,628 cases from 9,373 recorded on Tuesday.

Thirty-nine coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours versus 34 the day before.

"Another 15,130 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, up 13.4% from March 21," the headquarters said.

In total, 22,537,883 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic, including 396,938 deaths and 21,888,648 recoveries.
