Russian agribusiness exports to China surged 41.4% to $7 bln in 2022 - Putin
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Russia supplied $7 billion worth of agricultural products to China in 2022, thereby increasing exports to the country by 41.4%, President Vladimir Putin said during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Kremlin in an expanded format.
"Trade in agricultural products is growing at a faster pace. Last year the volume increased by 41.4%, reaching $7 billion in value terms. Moreover, the growth was quite even at equal amounts on both sides," Putin said.
Relevant ministries and agencies are working on enforcing quality standards for shipped products and improving conditions for mutual access to food products, Putin said.
"All this makes it possible to expect further growth of exports of Russian food products to the large Chinese market, and will help to increase the food security of both our countries," Putin said.
