Ukrainian State Border Service updates statistical data on border crossings

MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian State Border Service said that from March 11 to 17 the number of people leaving Ukraine slightly increased from 214,000 to 222,000, while the number of people entering the country remained almost the same at 226,000 as compared with 228,000 a week before.

The number of cars crossing the Ukrainian western border, according to the service, in the 11th week of the year slightly went up from 118,000 to 122,000, while the number of vehicles registered with humanitarian cargo rose from 442 to 509, the Ukrainian media reported, citing the statistical data of the State Border Service on the social media.

According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as of March 14, 19.506 million have left Ukraine since the crisis broke out, including 10.168 million to Poland, 2.852 million to Russia (data as of October 3), 2.350 million to Hungary, 2.091 million to Romania, 1.239 million to Slovakia, 787,600 to Moldova and 16,700 to Belarus.

At the same time, according to the UN statistics, 11.003 million arrived in Ukraine from February 28, 2022 to March 14, 2023 (without taking into account the data from Hungary, Russia and Belarus).

The number of Ukrainians registered in Europe with the temporary protection status or similar was 4.902 million as of March 14.
