Ukraine's GDP decline quickened to 31.4% in Q4 - State Statistics Service

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine's real gross domestic product fell 31.4% year-on-year in Q4 2022, according to preliminary data, after declining by 30.8% in Q3, Ukraine media quoted the State Statistics Service as saying.

GDP fell 4.7% on a seasonally adjusted basis in Q4 compared with Q3 2022.

The State Statistics Service did not say how much GDP had fallen in 2022 as a whole. The economy shrank 37.2% in Q2 and 15.1% in Q1 2022.

The Economy Ministry at the beginning of January estimated that real GDP had fallen 30.4% (±2%) in 2022 and 35.5% (±2%) in Q4. The National Bank at the end of January estimated the economy had shrunk 30.3% in 2022 and 35% in Q4.

GDP grew 3.4% in 2021 after falling 3.4% in 2021. Nominal GDP was UAH 5.451 trillion or around $200 billion.
