Russia sees 10,449 new Covid-19 cases, 42 related deaths in past day - HQ

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 10,449 new cases of Covid-19 and 42 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

Russia "has registered 10,449 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,801 patients have been hospitalized over the day, up 192.8% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

There were 615 coronavirus-related hospitalizations the day before.

The number of hospitalizations due to Covid-19 increased in 73 Russian constituent territories, declined in five, and remained unchanged in seven, it said.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 714 cases from 11,163 recorded on Monday.

Forty-two coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours versus 38 the day before.

"Another 14,373 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, up 56.8% from March 6," the headquarters said.

Russia's Covid-19 caseload since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 22,363,740, including 396,378 deaths and 21,700,795 recoveries.
