Canada's Tenaz Energy CEO elected chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine Supervisory Board

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Anthony Marino was elected chairman of the Naftogaz of Ukraine Supervisory Board on Friday, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to Naftogaz CEO Alexei Chernyshov.

"Anthony (U.S./Canada) has substantial managerial experience. He currently serves as the president and CEO of the Tenaz Energy company (Canada). Prior to that, he served as the executive director, president and CEO of Vermilion Energy, a transnational company prospecting and extracting hydrocarbons," Chernyshov said on social media.

Marino was a member of supervisory boards and boards of directors of six companies and entities in 2002-2020. "I have no doubt that his long experience in hydrocarbon prospecting and extraction will help our group achieve the best results," Chernyshov said.

The reinstatement of the Naftogaz Supervisory Board at a time difficult for the national energy system is an event of paramount importance, he said.

"Anthony Marino is a prospecting and extraction specialist with over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He is a citizen of the United States and Canada," Naftogaz said on Telegram.

Naftogaz of Ukraine unites the largest oil and gas producers of Ukraine. It has monopoly on storing gas in underground facilities and transporting oil by pipelines in the national territory.
