Sakhalin-1 project resumes oil production and sales - CEO Sechin

BANGALORE. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Production and shipments of oil have resumed under the Sakhalin-1 project, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin told reporters.

"Yes, everything is fine there. We are operating, and everything is fine. We are operating according to all industrial safety standards that correspond to the features of the project. The project is of course technically complex - this is a shelf. Work is being carried out both onshore and on platforms. There is much, and everything is fine," Sechin said.

"Production is underway. Sales are underway," the CEO elaborated.

The Sakhalin-1 project comprises the three oil and gas fields of Chayvo, Odoptu, and Arkutun-Dagi on the northeastern shelf of the peninsula. Total reserves are estimated at 307 million tonnes of oil and 485 billion cubic meters of natural gas, with an annual production volume of 11.3 million tonnes of oil.
