Romanian barge sinks at Ukrainian port
MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - A Romanian barge with 860 tonnes of wheat on board sank at the Ukrainian port of Reni on the morning of February 4, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Romanian publication Stirile.Pro.TV.
The publication cited the barge's owners as saying that the incident occurred while it was being loaded, as water unexpectedly started coming into its engine room.
Five Romanian crewmembers were rescued.
According to Stirile.Pro.TV, the barge belongs to a Romanian company based in Constanta.
