Tokayev proposes UAE companies consider 'green' hydrogen production in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. Jan 17 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called on Emirati companies to contemplate the possibility of producing green hydrogen in Kazakhstan.

"Given Emirati companies' impressive results in green hydrogen development, I would also urge you to examine the analogous possibility in Kazakhstan," Tokayev was quoted by his press service as saying at a roundtable with investors in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Kazakhstan plans to introduce 11 gigawatts of clean energy and fully transform its energy sector, he said.

"We therefore welcome Masdar's intention to build a large wind farm in Kazakhstan. Projects to produce renewable energy with the cumulative capacity are our priority. We hope this is just the beginning," Tokayev said.
