CBR allows banks from 'unfriendly' countries to transfer rubles abroad from correspondent accounts at Russian banks

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has allowed banks from "unfriendly" countries to transfer funds in rubles abroad from correspondent accounts opened at Russian banks, the CBR said in a statement.

The CBR believes this will support settlements in rubles in foreign trade transactions.

"Amid sanctions pressure, such a payments channel will help to increase the stability of international settlements infrastructure," the CBR said.
