Ukrzaliznytsia orders 40 European-gauge tank cars from Poland

MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - The Transport Logistics Center, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ), urgently ordered 40 tank cars from Poland's Brand Rock Sp.z o.o. costing 5.96 million euros based on tender outcomes, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the ProZorro electronic procurement database.

The company is planning to buy tank cars using the standard (European) 1,435-mm track gauge. In Ukraine, such tracks are present only in a few areas in the western part of the country.

The cars are to be delivered between December 14 and 31, 2022. No other details of the delivery are available thus far.

Brand Rock was the only bidder in the tender.

As reported earlier, after the Ukrainian oil product market started experiencing shortages amid the crisis, the government decided in late May to designate UZ as the state importer of fuel for the economy's needs.
