French minister for armed forces visits Kiev, meets with Zelensky
MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and French Minister for the Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu discussed further steps to boost the defense capabilities of Ukraine with France's support.
"I had a meeting with Minister for the Armed Forces of France Sebastian Lecornu. I spoke about Ukraine's defense needs. We discussed further steps to strengthen the defense capabilities of our country with the support of France," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Zelensky as saying in a social media post on Wednesday evening.
Zelensky also noted the success of the Paris-hosted international conference on supporting Ukraine during the winter period, as a result of which additional emergency assistance of 1 billion euros for Ukraine was announced, the Ukrainian presidential press service said.
"The parties also exchanged views on topical issues of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration," the press service said.
