Ukraine receives $2-bln grant from United States

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Ukraine has received a $2-billion grant from the United States through the World Bank's facility within the framework of the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine (PEACE) Project, the Ukrainian media said on Tuesday, quoting a press release of the Finance Ministry.

This is the second tranche of a grant totaling $4.5 billion.

The grant will be spent on pensions and salaries of civil defense workers, as well as healthcare services provided under the medical guarantee program.

According to the ministry, Ukraine has received $12 billion as grants since the beginning of the crisis. The United States has been the biggest donor of direct budget support among all partners in 2022.
