Zelensky urges French businesses to invest in Ukrainian food industry

MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has urged French businesses to invest in the Ukrainian food industry.

"The development of a global food crisis has been stopped by joint efforts" this year, the Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying at the Paris Solidarity Conference by video link.

"We have exported over 13 million tonnes of grain. Our Grain from Ukraine initiative will help the poorest countries," he said.

"Raw materials are what we are mostly exporting and providing as humanitarian aid, while we can also deliver processed products. We need to build a whole industry, which will be centered on exports, will definitely have buyers, and will definitely generate profit," Zelensky said.

It would be right "if French businesses evaluate the potential and come to Ukraine now. The same applies to the electric power industry, machine building, the defense ministry, transport and other sectors," he said.
