Belarus-Vatican relations continue to develop - apostolic nuncio

MINSK. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Belarus and the Vatican continue to develop their relations despite all difficulties, Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus Archbishop Ante Jozic told journalists on Friday.

"Despite all the difficulties, our relations are developing and will continue to develop. The Vatican, for its part, will do its best not only for the development of our church but also for the entire society," the Belarusian state news agency BelTA quoted Jozic as saying.

Jozic attended a reburial ceremony of the relics of St. Fabian Maliszewski at St. Casimir's Church in Stolbtsy in Belarus on Friday, Belta said. He also met with Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin to discuss the development of the Catholic diocese. Jozic informed journalists about good relations with both the Minsk regional administration and the Belarusian state.
