Ukraine and UAE plan to sign comprehensive economic partnership agreement

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates announced their intention to sign a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) in a joint statement signed on Monday by Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Al Zeyoudi, Ukrainian media said, citing the press service for Ukraine's Economy Ministry.

According to Al Zeyoudi, Ukraine has become the first European state with which the UAE is going to sign a CEPA, a move that highlights Ukraine's importance as a long-term trade and investment partner.

In 2021, Ukraine-UAE trade in goods and services rose to a record high of $1.147 billion, with agricultural products accounting for over 50% of this amount, and metal products for another 30%. The UAE's investment in the Ukrainian economy reached $243.3 million last year.
