Russia registers 6,721 new cases of Covid-19, 57 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 6,721 new cases of Covid-19 and 57 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Russia has recorded 6,721 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,150 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 12.3% from the day before," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 31 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 46, and has remained unchanged in eight, it said.

The daily morbidity has slightly decreased from 6,785 infections reported on Thursday, following two days of consecutive growth.

Another 57 patients died from Covid-19 over the day, as against 58 the day before.

"Meanwhile, 5,684 patients have recovered over the day, down 3.1% from December 1," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 21,604,334 cases of Covid-19, including 392,117 deaths and 21,009,259 recoveries.
