Over $180 mln already collected for Grain from Ukraine initiative - Zelensky

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - More than $180 million has already been accumulated for the Grain from Ukraine initiative, Ukraine's media quoted Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as saying in a video address on Monday.

"The volume of accumulated funds for our Grain from Ukraine initiative is growing and already exceeds $180 million. This is already one of the largest Ukrainian humanitarian initiatives. And there will be even more," Zelensky said.

"Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Greece, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, the United States, Turkey, Hungary, Finland, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, and the European Union have already announced their financial and logistical contribution to this initiative - this is a significant number of participants. And there are also South Korea and Japan, NATO and of course the UN," he said.

"I am grateful to everyone who is participating in it, who is helping Ukraine," Zelensky said.

The funds accumulated to date as part of this program stand at over 4180 million, which will be spent on delivering Ukrainian food products to African and Asian countries most exposed to famine.

"The Grain from Ukraine initiative remains open for other countries to join during the entire period of its work," according to the statement.
