No vessels left Ukrainian ports on Nov 28 under Istanbul grain deal due to adverse weather

NEW YORK, UN. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) has said that it has permitted the movement of 1,000 bulkers since the Black Sea Grain Initiative entered into force.

"As of 28 November, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 12,188,194 metric tonnes. A total of 1,000 voyages (499 inbound and 501 outbound) have been enabled so far," the center said.

"Due to unfavorable weather conditions, no vessels left Ukrainian ports today [on November 28] under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the JCC said.

Meanwhile, six vessels transited the maritime humanitarian corridor on November 28 heading to the Ukrainian ports.

Also, 77 vessels capable of exporting around 2.4 million tonnes of food are waiting to enter the Ukrainian ports, and 28 loaded vessels are awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters before proceeding to their points of destination, the JCC said.

Furthermore, 25,000 tonnes of wheat will be loaded onto the Neva vessel, chartered by the UN World Food Program, "in support of the humanitarian response in Somalia," it said.
