IAEA confirms restoration of power supply to Zaporozhye NPP
BRUSSELS. Nov 25 (Interfax) - External power was restored to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) on Thursday, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi said.
"External power has been restored to Ukraine's Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant a day after it lost access to off-site electricity," Grossi said in a communique published on the IAEA website.
IAEA experts working at the Zaporozhye NPP have also confirmed the restoration of power supply to the facility.
Ukraine's nuclear industry yesterday experienced the most extensive loss of off-site power since the conflict began, Grossi said, underlining the need for serious measures to prevent the danger of a serious nuclear accident.
Renat Karchaa, an advisor to the Rosenergoagom head, told Interfax earlier that power supply to the Zaporozhye NPP had been restored.
