Available channels sufficient for discussing prisoner swap with U.S. - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - There are channels for Russian-U.S. contacts with regard to prisoner swaps, and the serious proposals of Russia in this area are known to Washington, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Channels are available, they have to be discrete, this is the only way they can bring results. In this case, megaphone diplomacy undermines the efficiency of these channels," Peskov told reporters on Friday.
"We take all proposals seriously, and our serious proposals in this area are well known to Washington," Peskov said.
He thus answered a question on whether the discussion of a prisoner swap would require direct dialogue between the Russian and U.S. presidents or the available channels were sufficient.
