Kyrgyz president invited UAE investors to implement joint project for regional air hub in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov at the meeting with United Arab Emirates' Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan invited Emirati investors to develop joint projects for establishing a regional air hub in the republic, and hydropower projects.

"The heads of state discussed the future of developing cooperation between the countries, the intensification of interaction in trade, economy, education, the humanitarian field, investment and other spheres of mutual interest," the Kyrgyz president's press service said in a statement on Monday.

The UAE president noted that the two countries have big opportunities in trade and economic cooperation and "reaffirmed that the Emirati side is ready to jointly enhance interaction with Kyrgyzstan," it said.

Japarov in turn said that UAE is Kyrgyzstan's main trade partner in the Middle East, and the two countries have no conflicting points on the international arena.

"Annual trade between the two countries is growing and reached $69 million in January-August 2022. The sides can improve this positive dynamics in the coming years," Japarov said.

The Kyrgyz president invited UAE investors to jointly implement projects for creating a regional air hub in the Kyrgyzstan, as well as projects in the hydropower sector.

Japarov also invited Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan to visit Kyrgyzstan anytime, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said.
