Kazakhstan signs $1.4 bln in investment agreements with foreign companies

ASTANA. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has signed 24 investment documents totaling $1.4 billion with a number of foreign companies, Kazakh Invest National Company said.

The documents were signed at the fifth Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable attended by over 600 international companies, domestic businesses, investors and experts.

"As part of the roundtable, 24 documents were signed totaling about $1.4 billion," KazInvest said.

Among the documents, there is a joint project with Turkey's Orhun Medical on creating a Nuclear Medicine Center in the Aktobe Region, a project with the Adani Group on expanding the Kuryk infrastructure, and a joint project between Alatau Lithium LLP and Germany's HMS Bergbau AG on extracting and processing lithium.

The agreements were signed with Italy's Eni on building a wind farm in Astana, with Poland's Stokson Modern Bakery that plans to launch a confectionery plant in Astana, with Norplast on producing rubber and plastic components for cars, and with Astana Motors on manufacturing car seats in Almaty.
