Pakistan ready to purchase Russian oil at same price India pays - media

NEW DELHI. Oct 19 (Interfax) - Pakistan is ready to purchase Russian oil and petroleum products, though at the same price that India pays for them, local media reported on Tuesday, citing a statement by Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

"Pakistani finance minister Ishaq Dar has indicated the country's potential willingness to buy oil from Russia, though in the event that it is supplied at the same price as India receives it," the Daily Times reported.

Ishaq Dar is visiting Washington. When answering questions from reporters, Dar expressed hope that, "the West will not interfere with the import of Russian oil at a discount, given the difficult financial situation in Pakistan that has been aggravated by recent floods," the newspaper reported.
