Gazprom finds solution with Italian customers, gas deliveries via Austria resume

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Gazprom and its Italian customers have managed to find a solution regarding the format of interaction in light of the regulatory changes that took place in Austria at the end of September, the Russian gas giant said.

The Austrian operator has said it is ready to confirm the transport nominations of LLC Gazprom Export, which enables Russian gas supplies through Austria to resume.

Russian gas supplies to Italy through Austria stopped on October 1 due to the new regulation in Austria.

Italy's Eni earlier said that Gazprom had said it could not confirm the gas supplies requested as gas supply through Austria is impossible. Gazprom said in a commentary that the transportation of Russian gas under contracts with Gazprom Export through the territory of Austria had been suspended due to the refusal of the Austrian operator to confirm transport nominations. The reason is the regulatory changes that happened in Austria in late September.

Gazprom is working on solving the problem jointly with the Italian customers, the Russian company said.
