Ukraine had state budget deficit of $13.5 bln for Jan-Sept

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) -Ukraine had a state budget deficit for January-September 2022 of UAH 493.4 billion or $13.5 billion at the current exchange rate, the Finance Ministry said.

Grants from the EU, United States and other countries and international organizations totaled UAH 15.9 billion in May, rising to UAH 38.12 billion in June, UAH 80.4 billion in July and UAH 109.7 billion in August but falling back to UAH 72.5 billion in September.

The budget's General Fund revenue taking this into account came to UAH 156.1 billion in September, compared with UAH 204.6 billion in August and UAH 169.6 billion in July while cash expenditures were UAH 233.1 billion in September, UAH 212.1 billion in August and UAH 174.5 billion in July.

State budget cash expenditure was UAH 1.746 trillion in January-September, including UAH 1.594 trillion for the General Fund. State budget cash expenditure was UAH 292.2 billion in September.

VAT on goods manufactured in Ukraine was UAH 22 billion in September, up from UAH 16.4 billion in July, but VAT refunds fell to UAH 1.6 billion from UAH 9.5 billion.

VAT on imports, concessions for which were abolished at the beginning of July, came to UAH 26.3 billion in September and UAH 26.2 billion in August. Income tax and military tax revenue came to UAH 12.6 billion, down from UAH 12.7 billion, and excises were UAH 9.2 billion, up from UAH 7.8 billion.

Profit tax revenue fell to UAH 1.4 billion in September from UAH 17.4 billion in August, mineral resource rent fell to UAH 7 billion from UAH 8.2 billion and import and export duties fell to UAH 2.4 billion from UAH 2.5 billion.
