Independent directors Orcel, Baizini leave Polymetal's board

MOSCOW. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Independent directors Riccardo Orcel and Giacomo Baizini have stepped down from the board of directors of Polymetal , the Russian silver and gold miner said in a statement.

"We plan to start searching for new candidates to replace the outgoing directors as soon as possible," Vitaly Nesis, Polymetal CEO and board member, was quoted as saying in the statement.

In addition to Nesis, Konstantin Yanakov, representing the ICT group, the company's largest shareholder; and independent members Yevgeny Konovalenko, Zhanat Berdalina, Steven Dashevsky, and Paul Ostling, have remained on the board.

Baizini had been on Polymetal's board of directors since early 2018, and was the only independent director not to leave the company this March, when foreigners withdrew from the boards of Russian and Russia-related companies. Orcel had just joined the board, replacing one of the departed directors.
