Erdogan, Zelensky discuss situation surrounding Zaporizhzhya NPP in phone call

MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has had a telephone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ukrainian media reported citing the Turkish presidential press service.

"President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine," the press service said.

The conversation addressed the latest developments related to the conflict in Ukraine, it said.

"Drawing attention to the successful functioning of the agreement on Ukrainian grain's shipment through the Black Sea, President Erdogan stressed that a similar approach can be taken as regards the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant as well," it said.

Erdogan reiterated Turkey's offer to act as a mediator and facilitator in setting up a demilitarized zone around the power plant, it said.
