Verkhovna Rada reinstates excise duty on motor fuels

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday passed bill No. 7668-d on reinstating excise duties on motor fuels by 255 votes, Ukrainian media have reported.

The duty on gasoline and diesel fuel is to be 100 euros per 1,000 liters, on liquefied gas, butane, and isobutane 52 euros per 1,000 liters, and on alternative motor fuels and biodiesel 100 euros per 1,000 liters, said Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Rada Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy Committee.

A zero excise duty was set on fuel for the Defense Ministry.

The bill is to take effect the next day after its official publication, and therefore, the excise duty on motor fuels shall be reinstated in late September, Hetmantsev said.

VAT for all fuels remains at the level of 7%.

As reported earlier, the Rada had lifted excise duties on motor fuels in March 2022.
