Ukraine exports nearly 6.9 mln tonnes of grain since start of agro season - agrarian policy ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Ukraine has exported 6.88 million tonnes of grain crops since the beginning of the current agricultural season from July 2022 to June 2023, Ukrainian media quoted the country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The ministry notes that the rate of grain exports is 44.4% below last year's rate of 12.11 million tonnes of grain exported from July 1 to September 21, 2021.

From July 1 to September 21, Ukraine has exported 3.95 million tonnes of corn, an increase of 2.8-fold; 2.3 million tonnes of wheat, a drop of 67.7%; 598,000 tonnes of barley, a plunge of 81.8%; 2,400 tonnes of rye, a plummet of 90.9%; and 20,600 tonnes of flour, a drop of 35.2%.

Ukraine has supplied 2.58 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops to foreign markets since the beginning of September, including 1.04 million tonnes of wheat, 1.26 million tonnes of corn, 268,000 tonnes of barley, 8,400 tonnes of flour, and 1,900 tonnes of rye.

As previously reported, Ukraine exported 48.51 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year, in the 2021/2022 agricultural season, including 18.74 million tonnes of wheat, an increase of 12.6%; 23.54 million tonnes of corn, a rise of 1.9%; 5.75 million tonnes of barley, a surge of 35.9%; and 70,900 tonnes of flour, a drop of 44.1%.
