Ozon to deliver goods from China through partners, halve delivery times

MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - The international division of Ozon , Ozon Global has launched partnership delivery of goods from China, the Russian online retailer said.

Deliveries from China were previously arranged by vendors themselves, and customers could only get packages through third-party delivery services.

Now deliveries will be made through Ozon Chinese partners such as GBS, Unitrade, Hecny, Eshun, Xingyuan Express and Cainiao.

Vendors will be able to drop off their goods in most provinces of China and shoppers in Russia will be able to pick them up at any one of Ozon's more than 16,000 pick-up points.

The new delivery model will reduce average delivery times from China to Russia by half, Ozon said. The average delivery time will be from 14 days, not including order picking at the vendor, a source at Ozon said.

Products from China account for about 90% of total orders at Ozon Global.
