UkrGasVydobuvannya restarts 2 wells producing 250,000 cubic meters per day in Poltava region

MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - UkrGasVydobuvannya, the largest gas producer in Ukraine, has resumed operations of two earlier suspended wells in the Poltava region with a capacity of 250,000 cubic meters per day, Ukrainian media said on Monday.

"Specialists of UkrGasVydobuvannya have restarted operations of two wells that earlier stopped producing gas due to the depletion of gas-bearing strata. Now, after a total overhaul, we are extracting around 250,000 cubic meters of gas per day from them," the company said.

Other prospective strata were used to resume operations at these wells, as the company's specialists replaced worn-out pipes and made perforation holes, it said.

Both operations related to the wells' overhaul were performed by UGV-Service, the company's internal subcontractor.

The repair works at one of these wells have also made it possible to increase gas reserves that were not previously accounted, the company said.

In January-June, UkrGasVydobuvannya reduced, as reported, commercial-grade gas supplies by 1.5% year-on-year to 6.31 billion cubic meters.
