Leaders of Kazakhstan, China to discuss strengthening of strategic partnership in Nur-Sultan on Sept 14

NUR-SULTAN. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on September 14 at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Kazakh presidential press service said on Monday.

"The leaders of Kazakhstan and China will discuss prospects for bolstering the Kazakh-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership," the press service said.

A number of bilateral documents are due to be signed at the end of the negotiations, it said.

Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov announced the pending visit of the Chinese president to Kazakhstan on September 5. "A state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan is planned to take place on September 14 at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," Smadiyarov said at a press briefing back then.
