Sweden to provide assistance worth 94 mln euros to Ukraine

BERLIN. Aug 29 (Interfax) - The Swedish authorities will provide some 94 million euros for military and economic assistance to Ukraine, the Western media reported on Monday.

"I promise you, Sweden will continue to be your close friend and supporter," Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

She did not specify what precisely the package of military assistance will contain, but said it will be similar to the previous one, which comprised anti-tank weapons, means of individual protection and mine clearance equipment.

The economic assistance will consist of Sweden buying Ukrainian grain to give it to countries facing food shortages, which, according to Stockholm's calculations, will help the Ukrainian economy.
