Zelensky's chief of staff hoping to receive document on security guarantees for Ukraine

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The international advisory group is working on security guarantees for Ukraine, and a compelling document may be composed shortly, chief of staff of the Ukrainian presidential office Andriy Yermak said.

"Speaking of the work our group has been doing with [former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh] Rasmussen: the work on the first document, i.e. security guarantee recommendations, is continuing. A highly compelling document will be composed shortly," the Ukrainian media has quoted Yermak as saying at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He said he had discussed the issue with former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and former Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Calderon in Kyiv.

"We are glad that our guests share our opinion that this work is of great importance and that Ukraine needs clear legally binding guarantees. New experts will join the group as time passes, so I hope we will be able to speak about tangible results very soon," Yermak said.
