Russia hoping to export fertilizers at least at 2021 level owing to UN efforts - Deputy PM Manturov

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - The Russian administration is hoping the UN effort towards lifting the restrictions on Russian fertilizers will allow their exports to reach at least at the 2021 level, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said in an interview with Interfax.

Russia exported about 17 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers in the first half of 2022, down 7.2% year-on-year, Manturov said.

"The main reason for that is the shutdown of the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline, which happened in that period, restrictions on the transshipment of Russian fertilizers in ports of neighboring countries, refusals of foreign customers to pay for Russian products, and problems with conducting the transactions. We are hoping to continue the stable supply of fertilizers at least at last year's level owing to the work the United Nations has been doing," he said.
