Uralkhimmash studying opportunities for export presence in South Africa

YEKATERINBURG. Aug 10 (Interfax) - PJSC Uralkhimmash (managed by UZKHM, Sverdlovsk Region) intends to expand its presence on foreign markets; as part of its development of export sales channels the company has taken part in a business mission under the "Made in Russia" brand in the field of machine building and infrastructure solutions in South Africa, the company's press office said in a statement.

"We are ready to develop cooperation with contractors from the Middle East and Africa and, accordingly, to increase our own production capacity. So far the possibilities of our plant's export presence in South Africa are being drawn up within the standard foreign trade practice of searching for mutual interests, but it is possible that in the near future this will result in real projects and contracts," UZKHM chief Tamara Kobaladze was quoted as saying in the statement.

Uralkhimmash presented its line of oil and gas equipment and technological solutions for infrastructure development. The plant's online booth attracted the attention not only of ordinary South African traders, but also companies "with high in-country ratings." According to the Ural plant, these companies, in particular, are considering a broader framework of cooperation as compared with regular supply contracts.

Uralkhimmash manufactures equipment for the petrochemical, oil and gas processing, nuclear and conventional power industries. In February 2022, the plant was taken over by the specially created UZKHM Management Company. Its strategic partner is Gazprombank .
