Covid-19 cases surging in Abkhazia
SUKHUM. Aug 9 (Interfax) - A total of 312 new cases of coronavirus were identified in Abkhazia between August 1 and August 8, the Abkhaz Health Ministry said.
Twenty-three people diagnosed with Covid-19 are being treated in hospitals, while the others are receiving outpatient treatment.
Covid-19 morbidity dropped in Abkhazia in May and June of this year. One-off cases of the disease started to be recorded there in early July.
Abkhazia lifted coronavirus-related restrictions in April.
The number of new Covid-19 cases in Abkhazia began increasing on a daily basis at the beginning of July.
